2G DSM Adjustable Cam Angle Sensor Housing

$289.00

Designed and manufactured here at FTY Racing in Michigan, the FTY Racing Adjustable 2G billet cam sensor housing is a bolt-up replacement for the original late 2G DSM cam sensor housing found on all 1997-1999 4g63 engines. This housing is different from our standard late 2G housing in that it’s adjustable from -4cam degrees to +4 cam degrees compared to a non-adjustable housing. This doesn’t change ignition timing; it allows you to change phase between the home signal provided by the cam sensor and your trigger signal, typically provided by a wheel mounted on the crankshaft. If you have a decked head or block, use a 4G64 block, or run exceptionally high RPM on your 4G63, the adjustment of this will allow you to ensure that you have an adequate distance (in time) between your home and trigger signals, especially on aftermarket, standalone ECUs. This was designed specifically for this purpose!

If you have any questions about it’s use, please feel free to contact us and we can assist you in getting your cam timing needs figured out.

Description

This new housing is billet CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and comes complete with O-rings and stainless hardware.

The completed housing consists of the following:

  • 1 FTY Racing Adjustable billet cam sensor housing.
  • 1 FTY Racing billet cam sensor housing cap.
  • 2 O-rings to seal the cap to the housing and the housing to the engine.
  • Button cap stainless steel hardware to bolt the cap to the housing.
  • Warm fuzzy feelings about a blingy new billet part!

This does not include the cam sensor itself (MD327107) or the cam sensor cup (MD327621), which are both available at other well known DSM vendors, your local junkyard, local auto parts store or some guy on the internet. If you don’t have them or strike out, please let us know and we may be able to dig something up for you. You can find the sensor via Rock Auto or the cup via ExtremePSI.

If you’re using a standalone engine management system on a 1G DSM, it’s common to migrate to the late 2G cam sensor and cup with a 12-tooth crank trigger wheel like the one available from our friends over at Kiggly Racing. In addition to the 12-tooth trigger, you will have to modify your cam sensor cup so that it only has a single tooth. There are a few threads about this, like this DSMTuners thread, a thread on Haltech’s forums here,  or even triggerdisc.com’s FAQ
